Mat Care Guidelines
Mat Use Guidelines In the case where there are multiple mat providers, comBATON requests to have their rings closed down first due to the distance we typically to drive to and from the venue. In the case of our mats being used longer than all others an hourly fee of $30.00 per hour will apply.
Basic Guidelines:
1. All mats will be edged with provided edges. No street shoes to be worn on mats.
2. No chairs on mats!
3. No mats will be used as walkways over electric cords. (Electronic scoring wires are OK) If you need to cover cords, ask us about using cord covers and carpet to avoid tripping hazards.
4. Mats will be used only on clean floors with no protruding devices such as open electrical outlet covers.
5. Rings will be disassembled before electronic scoring wires are taken up. Mats will not be partially "ripped" up to remove wires before ring is broken down.
6. Floors will be clean before mats are put down.
7. Anyone helping with mat set-up or take-down must be trained in proper mat care. We do not want unsupervised children randomly "ripping up" mats. Most mat damage occurs during take up therefore responsible adults should do this task. This is especially important with mat take-down due to the quality of our mats.
In Cases Where an Entire Venue is Matted:
1. Only approved chairs may be used on mats. (For example: Lakeland Center chairs may not be used.)
2. We will provide a set of mat protector balls to be placed on the legs of folding chairs located on mats. Only chairs with these legs may be used on mats.
3. Any tables placed on mats will have cardboard placed under any table legs located on mats.
